Atlanta Home Show March 22 and 23
When Floor & Decor brings you the 41st Atlanta Home Show March 22-24 at the Cobb Galleria Centre, the annual event will offer attendees the opportunity to interact with hundreds of home improvement exhibitors, sample and see products demonstrated, enjoy live radio broadcasts and hear from a roster of expert speakers. This year’s celebrity speaker is home-grown HGTV success story, Clint Harp.
Harp, who grew up in north Atlanta and graduated from Dunwoody High School, is a carpenter who became known nationally for his appearances as the go-to furniture maker on the hit HGTV show Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines. Harp and his wife, Kelly, now run their business, Harp Design Company, in Waco, Texas. They are also starring in their own DIY Network series, Wood Work, which shows them improving various home spaces for individuals and families, and creating custom wood pieces. As if that’s not enough to keep anyone busy, Harp is the author of Handcrafted: A Wood Worker’s Story. He will speak about his life and work both on and off-camera from the Home Show Main Stage Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. and Saturday, March 23 at 1 and 4 p.m.
“Dunwoody is ‘home’, and I try to get back as often as possible to see family and friends,” says Harp. “The last time I was here, I had the chance to visit our old family home on the Chattahoochee River. My grandfather built it with his own hands, so it’s a really special place. The current owners couldn’t have been nicer and let me come in and take a look around and revisit some wonderful childhood memories.”
Produced by Marketplace Events, the Atlanta Home Show is Georgia’s largest home show. Hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday, March 22, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23, and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, March 24. General Admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the box office, or attendees can save $2 per ticket by purchasing them in advance at AtlantaHomeShow.com. Children age 12 and under and adults age 65 and older (with I.D.) are admitted free.
“In addition to bringing Clint Harp to speak at the Show, we have a very exciting line up of exhibitors, speakers and special features for the Atlanta Home Show,” says Mark Levine, Show manager. “Our biggest-ever display will be a 3,500-square- foot Tiny Home Village, landscaped by Georgia Landscape. Homes will be created by Mustard Seed Tiny Homes, Bolder Container Homes and others. I think our attendees will really enjoy learning how to live large in a small space. We’ll also have live radio broadcasts throughout the event.”
Attendees can enter a contest to win a trip to Waco, Texas, to meet Clint Harp and take a private tour of Harp Design Co. Additional prizes include a sampler package from Show exhibitors and a trip to Hawaii to participate in a Habitat for Humanity home build on the Big Island. Details are posted at AtlantaHomeShow.com/show-features/contest-promotions.
