Blondes Rule

Mountain Love

The Swag, a 14-room rustic mountain hideaway in North Carolina, kicked off its 36th season on April 21 with a roster of programs that feature some of America’s foremost experts on Great Smoky Mountains wildlife and nature. Hikes, workshops and presentations are designed to celebrate the area’s stunning features through a variety of programs. This year’s “event leaders” include nationally recognized North Carolina-based storyteller Donald Davis, guest host for NPR’s Good Evening, singer and songwriter Doug Peters, artist Gay Bryant, master naturalist and elk expert Esther Blakely, birding expert Bob Collier, hiking and wildlife experts Joel and Kathy Zachry and black bear researcher Michael R. Polo for Kids

Atlanta Regional Polo Center is offering a Junior Polo Camp at the Atlanta Polo Club located in Vinings. The camp is open to juniors, ages 8 – 18. Camp hours are 1 – 5 p.m., June 5 – 9. Campers will learn about horsemanship, riding for polo, how to swing a polo mallet, as well as rules and strategies of polo. Previous riding experience is not required and all equipment will be provided. ARPC is dedicated to teaching kids about the sport of polo in a fun, safe environment. In addition to the polo camp, ARPC has a Polo School where everyone can learn to play. The Lash Lounge, a beauty salon dedicated to eyelash extensions, is now open Sandy Springs. Located at 4600 Roswell Rd in the Gateway Center, the salon will offer local residents a low-maintenance beauty routine.  The Lash Lounge specializes in semi-permanent eyelash extensions in an upscale, luxurious salon. Each client’s extensions are a customized design based on their eye shape and preference for eyelash length,  thickness, curl and desired fullness. The Lash Lounge licensed stylists also perform eyebrow extensions, eyebrow threading, lash and eyebrow tinting and lash lifts. Warhol is Here

Don’t miss your chance to see some of Andy Warhol’s most iconic works of art, on view this summer only at the High Museum of Art. Featuring more than 200 works, including his famous screenprint portfolios Marilyn Monroe (1967), Campbell’s Soup I (1968), Electric Chair (1971), and Mao (1972), the exhibition takes you on a journey through the late 20th century with some of the era’s most powerful and enduring images. The works in the exhibition are drawn exclusively from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation in Portland, Oregon. Remarkable for their nearly exhaustive range, the Schnitzer Collections offer an unparalleled opportunity to explore the breadth of Warhol’s influential graphic production over the course of four decades. The 45th Annual Dunwoody Home Tour will be held on Wednesday, October 4. Four outstanding private homes will be open to the public.  Tickets will be available beginning on August 17 at DunwoodyWomansClub.com 
or from any member of the Dunwoody Woman’s Club and at many Dunwoody merchants. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour. All profits are used to implement the club’s local and worldwide charitable initiatives.
